Nowadays, under the guidance of the concept of green lighting, various lighting technologies are constantly emerging. As a new lighting technology, optical fiber lighting and LED lamps are always at the forefront of the era in the field of green lighting.
1. Optical Fiber Illumination
Fiber optic lighting is a new lighting method in recent years. Because of the unique physical characteristics of optical fiber, optical fiber lighting has been applied to indoor decoration lighting, local effect lighting, billboard lighting, guiding lighting of outdoor public areas of buildings, indoor and outdoor underwater lighting, building contour and elevation lighting, and good lighting effect has been achieved. The optical fiber illumination system is composed of light source, reflector, color filter and optical fiber. When the light source passes through the reflector, an approximate parallel light beam is formed. Because of the function of the filter, the beam is turned into color light. When the beam enters the optical fiber, the color light is sent to the predetermined place along the path of the optical fiber. Because of the loss of light in the way, the light source is usually very strong. The common light source is about 150-250W. Moreover, in order to obtain approximate parallel beams, the luminous point should be as small as possible and approximate to the point source. Reflector is an important factor for obtaining approximate parallel beams. Therefore, aspheric reflectors are generally used. A filter is a component that changes the color of a beam. According to the need, the corresponding color light source can be obtained by changing different color filters. Optical fiber is the main body of optical fiber lighting system. The function of optical fiber is to transmit or transmit light to a predetermined place. Optical fibers are divided into end-emitting and bulk-emitting. The former is illuminated by the taillight after the beam is transmitted to the end point, while the latter is itself a luminous body, forming a flexible light column. For optical fiber materials, it must be in the visible light range, the minimum loss of light energy to ensure the quality of lighting. But in fact, it is impossible to have no loss, so the optical fiber transmission distance of about 30 m is the best.
